Lickety Split!

As I count down the days to Hosie Wedding #1 (of 3) and company coming because of the aforementioned, I can't tell if I feel like I'm getting more things done than not. What really matters more are my relative levels of sanity throughout the entire process. This morning, sanity was not so good, but it is pretty great for most other days.

Because there is an impending wedding (June 18th) on the horizon - things around the house mostly revolve around the day family arrives and how much we can get done before they get here/what we can get done while they are here. Originally, we were going to put the floor down after our visitors left, but because Chris is so willing to help out, the floor might be going in as we speak! (I say might because I flew to Edmonton for the weekend today). In order to remember how the house will look with just the lovely brown plywood and the beautiful paint job, here is a reminder:

Pre-Hardwood Floor!
In addition to the importance of having a functional area for sitting and eating inside which guests come, it is also more important to have the same area outside in the summer. Hence why, I Mcguyvered some patio furniture together.

Before
Anyone care to join me?
There still are a few more things like planters and such to add, but kinda like I said - lickety split! Just like that! I love things that go together with less screws than pieces to put together (almost literally)!

As I mentioned earlier, I'm on a mini break from things until Monday because of a quick trip back to Edmonton. In the mean time, the male counterpart Worker Bees should be making some progress on that floor. Daddy Worker Bee just texted me and said that as he was watching the game he was applying some 'leveling product' with the hopes of starting the process soon! We've borrowed our Uncle Scott's chop saw for the moment to do the job, because if you can believe this (and those of you who know Bob Howe will find this astonishing) the chop saw happens to be the one piece of equipment that can't be found in our shop. I can guarantee you you'll find just about anything else, including multiple no.2 robertson screwdrivers, too many extension cords, a HUGE industrial sized belt sander, as well as a sailboat laser. You get my drift. So with all of the necessary tools and knowledge, should be a go! Just to remind you, it's 3/4" solid cherry that we are putting down! Should be pretty wonderful!

The list is long and longer for when I get back on Monday, but I just have to worry about it not snowing in Edmonton for the next couple days . . .

Enjoy the weekend! :)
